| [Top of page] [Previous Section] [Next Section] | ||||||
| Selection is undertaken twice a year by a committee comprising the following people | ||||||
|
||||||
| First selection is on the SECOND SUNDAY of April combined with the County Trials. The results of the trials are also included in the selection process. Dependent on the number of applicants an invitation will be made to all, starting from the top. This does not mean a one off high score, the selection panel will be looking for consistency in performance. The County Champions both Recurve and Compound will be automatically invited. The selection will be done on the day of the trials directly after the shoot. | ||||||
| Those selected will be invited to shoot for the County at the first county match of the season which is the 4 COUNTIES MATCH. On the day of the 4 COUNTIES the top archers will be selected for the 3 COUNTIES MATCH on results. | ||||||
| Second selection is for the two matches at the end of the season, and is undertaken by the selection committee at the beginning of September from application forms received by the week after the Cheshire weekend, This is for the third match of the season, which is the NORTH WALES match. Once again selection for the following match, which is the 5 COUNTIES, will be done on the day of the North Wales match by selection from the top archers of the day. The five counties match will require Longbow archers in the team of both ladies and gents and will be selected by the selection committee in September and notified by the Team Manager. There will also be a reserve for both ladies and gent selected in case of illness and could be called upon up to three days before the match, the person selected will be informed. | ||||||
